SIGECOM Layoffs: 57 Jobless

New Media Producer: Rachel Beavin

Nearly 60 workers with SIGECOM are now looking for a new place to work.

SIGECOM was bought out by the company WOW! in November.

On Thursday, 57 people were told their positions with the company are being eliminated.

13 of those people have until January 12th to find another job, the other 44 have until June.

The January terminations are mostly in the technical operations field, the June group is mostly call center related.

All employees were given severance packages and health benefits until their termination date.

SIGECOM's name will likely switch to wow in mid-spring when the billing integration is complete.

The company's CEO and vice president both tell 14 News customers will not be affected.
